Nike Deal Through 2029

The Nike/Jordan Brand deal for UC is now through 2029, per release this afternoon from UC:

The Bearcats will continue to proudly display the C-Paw with Nike and Jordan Brand logos through 2029.

Cincinnati Athletics announced on Monday a direct multi-year agreement with NIKE, Inc. that begins in 2025.

The Bearcats will be outfitted in Nike-provided uniforms, shoes and other accessories.

The deal keeps UC partnered with Nike and Jordan Brand after an agreement with BSN Sports began in 2023 to outfit Cincinnati Athletics teams in the best apparel and footwear.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the industry leaders in apparel, performance and style,” Cincinnati Director of Athletics John Cunningham said. “It has been great to see the C-Paw reunited with the Swoosh and Jumpman logos since this summer. We are thrilled to take that partnership with Nike and Jordan Brand to the next level and keep Bearcats student-athletes outfitted in these iconic brands for years to come.”

Football Kandra Second Team Walter Camp

Release from UC Athletics:

Redshirt junior guard Luke Kandra had a day he will surely never forget on Friday, earning his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Cincinnati and also picking up Second Team All-America honors from the Walter Camp Foundation.

The Walter Camp All-America team is the nation’s oldest and one of the most prestigious All-America teams. Friday’s announcement marked the 134th edition of the team. Walter Camp is also one of just five All-America teams recognized by the NCAA.

Kandra, a Cincinnati native, was named to the All-Big 12 First Team by the Associated Press on Friday, as well.

He will begin his MBA program at UC in January as he returns to lead Cincinnati for his redshirt senior season.

In 2023, Kandra finished as the Power 5’s third-rated guard with an 80.5 grade from Pro Football Focus, and the third-best offensive linemen in the Big 12.

A transfer from Louisville, Kandra led the Bearcats with 79 knockdowns and a 92% overall grade, rating as UC’s best offensive lineman in 10 of 12 games. He logged 895 snaps during the regular season – the third-most of any guard in the country in the regular season.

Led in part by Kandra’s blocking, Cincinnati finished fifth in the nation in rushing (217.1 ypg) and junior running back Corey Kiner tallied the 20th 1,000-yard rushing season in Bearcats’ history.

Kandra joins defensive tackle Dontay Corleone (2022 AP All-America Third Team) and punter Mason Fletcher (2022 AP All-America Third Team) as returning Bearcats’ All-Americans for the 2024 season.

Kandra’s selection to the Walter Camp Second Team marks the third straight season, UC has had a Walter Camp All-American. He joins Ivan Pace (2022 First Team), Coby Bryant (2021 First Team) and Sauce Gardner (2021 Second Team) as recent Walter Camp selections.

Kandra is the seventh Bearcat to collect All-America honors from the Walter Camp Foundation all-time.

Cincinnati’s star right guard also grabbed All-Big 12 First Team accolades from the Associated Press on Friday. He was joined by Corleone, who was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team by the AP.

Kandra also was named to the The Athletic’s All-Portal First Team earlier this week as one of the nation’s top transfers.

Guys, I caught up with one of UC's higher-priority targets for the 2025 class so far, four-star tight end Hollis Davidson. He visited the Bearcats Nov. 4 for the game against UCF, part of a string of recent visits he told me about.
Login to view embedded media Davidson told me he's up to 17 offers overall and hopes to see as many as possible. But with that, it's the schools he feels like are really interested in him.

That Nov. 4 visit was Davidson's first to UC. But he told me he liked how the staff treated him and his family and really conveyed he's a priority. Specifically, Davidson said he feels like he has a great bond with assistant coach Josh Stepp. Another example of why it's important to get in early with recruits. Davidson told me he remembers that the Bearcats were his third offer. But he feels like he can trust Stepp and go to him with any questions he has.

The other visits Davidson took to finish the season were Nov. 11 to Florida State, Nov. 18 to Tennessee and Nov. 25 to Auburn for the Iron Bowl. I get the sense that the Vols might be the slight favorite here. He talked about them more than anyone else. The game he visited was against Georgia and I know that atmosphere was electric. Davidson is also going back to Tennessee Dec. 15 to watch bowl practice. He also has plans to get to Florida and Miami soon.

Davidson said he'll be back at UC for junior day Jan. 27. Along with Tennessee, those are the only schools he's recently seen and has plans to get back to. BIG news that he's returning to Clifton, but I do get the feel that Tennessee is a slight favorite, so we'll see how that visit goes there.

Full story coming.
