The University of Cincinnati Athletics announced on Thursday a partnership with Lava.ai, a leading provider of fan engagement and data activation solutions, to enhance the fan engagement and customer service experience for season ticket members and all Bearcat fans.
As part of this collaboration, UC will test LAVA’sinnovative applications during the final men’s basketball home game, with plans for a full launch in Fall 2025 for Bearcats football. Over the next two weeks, season ticket members should look for emails featuring exclusive customer service offers and exciting new benefits.
LAVA’s platform enables athletics departments to engage with fans in a differentiated way, from season-ticket members, single-game buyers, alumni, donors, and students through digital rewards, personalized experiences, and more. Using LAVA’s fully integrated platform, Cincinnati will be able to deliver in-person and digital customer engagements to enhance the fan experience.
"We are always looking to elevate the fan experience, and LAVA will help us do that," said Anthony Di Fino, Cincinnati’s Deputy Athletic Director for External Relations and Chief Revenue Officer. "The world of college athletics is transforming rapidly, but what can't be lost is that our fans deserve our dedicated focus, especially as they join us on campus for gamedays. Having a partner like LAVA will help us innovate in a space that is becoming increasingly important as fan engagement and viewing habits continue to evolve. Fans rightfully demand a world-class and memorable experience, and this partnership will help us meet those expectations."
Over 50 professional sports franchises, including NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLS, and related venues already utilize LAVA’s platform solutions to help drive revenue and bring additional value to sponsors and partners. The University of Cincinnati is LAVA’s first collegiate partner.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the innovation-minded Cincinnati Athletics team to bring professional-level fan engagement to college sports fandom,” said Dave Landa, LAVA’s Chief Business Officer. “College fans are every bit as rabid and unique as pro fans, if not more, so they deserve the same level of personalized real-time engagement.”
