Guys, I just got off the phone a few minutes ago with Loyola Academy (Ill.) defender Armoni Dixon. One of the final targets for UC in the 2019 class.

Dixon has 19 offers, but he's basically down to four: Cincinnati, Tulane, New Mexico and Florida International. Other offers include Syracuse and a lot of MAC schools. But at least with two of the four, they've offered Dixon as a hybrid DE/LB, which is what makes them appealing. And because of that, those two, Tulane and New Mexico, I think have a slight edge. UC has offered him as a DE.

With the Bearcats, Dixon said he doesn't know a ton, but he likes what he's seen. He also likes the relationship he has with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock. That's his area recruiter and he liked how Denbrock visited for a practice earlier in the season. They've also spoken on the phone regularly during the open recruiting period.

But again, I think Tulane is the early front-runner. He's headed there for an official visit Nov. 30 (next Friday). The only other visit he has set is Dec. 15 to FIU. The good news is that Dixon doesn't plan to decide until January. So I'd expect him to visit UC for an official, probably that first visit weekend, Jan. 11. That could drastically change things, getting UC for one of his last looks before he decides. Of course, that's assuming he's not impressed enough by Tulane to commit while he's there.

This one is a good one to watch. He's not the top target for the Bearcats, but a guy they'd take. Interesting when his UC official will be.

Full story coming.
