Guys, I just got off the phone a short while ago with 2019 OL Charles Turner, who's from McKinley HS in Canton (OH). He told me he was seen by a scout at an Under Armour camp this spring and got in contact with coaches at IMG Academy (Fla.). They've offered him a scholarship to attend there for his junior year and he'll head there July 17.

Turner camped at UC for its big man camp a few days ago and left with an offer. That made his third offer, along with Toledo and Alcorn State. But he was just offered yesterday by Minnesota. Of the Gophers, he told me, "That would be at the top of my list right now."
But the Bearcats are by no means out of this one. Turner said he likes the thought of playing close to home at UC and he really liked Nippert Stadium. He told me he didn't really get a chance to walk around campus or anything, but he did like spending time with assistant coach Ron Crook, his primary recruiter. Turner said he likes Crook's personality and how "genuine" he is.
But again, for now, Minnesota has an edge, because he seems to really like the coaching staff there. That includes that he likes the track record of coach PJ Fleck. Still a long way to go here and he's only gonna get more attention at IMG. So we'll see how the Bearcats hang in, but still good to get in before he heads down there.
Full story coming.
