Guys, I caught up with one of UC's more recent offers, 2023 QB Chris Vizzina. The offer came last Thursday and Vizzina said he now has 14 total, including places like Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State and Kentucky.
Vizzina was busy with a lot of visits this summer. He told me he went to Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia and Wake Forest. He did not get to UC, but that's because he didn't think the Bearcats were that interested. Vizzina said they've picked up their recruitment in recent weeks and he wishes he would have gotten to UC before the season started.
Assistant coach Gino Guidugli is the primary recruiter here. And Vizzina told me he likes how easy-going and easy Guidugli is to talk to. "He just seems like a coach that I would wanna spend my career with, someone I’d see every day," Vizzina told me.
Vizzina didn't talk about too many schools specifically. He did tell me he wanted to get to the Penn State/Auburn game on Sept. 18. No offer from the Nittany Lions yet, but sounds like he's hopeful.
Honestly, I don't feel like he's leaning any direction or even with a couple of schools. Sounds like he's waiting to see what comes this fall. I wouldn't be surprised if he does get to a UC game at some point, which would be more telling.
Full story coming.
