Guys, I talked earlier with one of UC's top targets for the 2021 class, Crisp County (Ga.) three-star linebacker Christopher Paul. I know we don't have him rated very high, but this is a rising kid in the class who has a lot of top D-I schools chasing him.
The big thing new with Paul is that he told me he has three schools standing out right now (not favorites, but close): Cincinnati, Nebraska and Michigan State. I'll give his thoughts on each when the story comes out, but it sounds like the first two are the top of the three.
With UC, Paul last visited Nov. 23 for the Temple game. He'd been one other time before that, but that's a great sign that the visited resonated with him that much.
The very main reason the Bearcats are in such great shape is defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, the primary recruiter here. Paul said he talks with Luke Fickell, but with Freeman, they talk almost every day, "just to speak with me, just to ask how I am, how I’m feeling and that’s why I love Freeman."
Paul has an official visit set for June 19 to UC, but we'll obviously see how the coronavirus plays out. He also planned to visit Nebraska the previous weekend. You can read the full comments on the two other schools here in the story coming, but unless something unforeseen happens, it'll be one of those three. Paul said Nebraska was similar to UC, as far as how the coaches treat him, and he has a great relationship with Michigan State defensive coordinator Mike Tressel. That should also show you the importance the Spartans have put on him.
Anyway, full story coming, but the Bearcats are in great shape here. Just have to wait to see when he can get back up to Clifton.
