Hey guys, I caught up with one of the many new offers the UC staff has put out, DE Darold Denoghe. His recruitment is just getting moving, with four offers, also from Bowling Green, Kent State and Rhode Island.
Dengohe said he's never been to UC, but plans to visit March 5 during spring practice. But he seems very aware of the run of success the Bearcats have had. He told me he loves to see how the program has grown and built itself up, to be in the CFP and headed to the Big 12. He said he also likes what he's seen on defense, notably the scheme and how he thinks he'd fit in that.
Assistant coach Colin Hitschler has been the primary recruiter here, though Mike Tressel has also been in contact. And it sounds like Dengohe likes how personable Hitschler has been. He told me Hitschler regularly messages him to check in, just to see how things are going.
It sounds like the offer Dengohe really wants is Penn State, so if that does come, that's the one to really watch for. He visited last weekend and has been quite a few times. But obviously no offer yet. The only other visit Dengohe has planned is March 12 to Northwestern. I'd expect more visits before that and the UC one, though.
