Guys, I talked earlier with a rising local product for 2021, La Salle's (OH) Devonta Smith. 8 total offers right now, most recently from UC, Kentucky and Minnesota.
The Bearcats are in a good place right now. Smith really likes coach Luke Fickell and said he loves seeing what he's done. He also likes seeing what other La Salle guys have done, like Josh Whyle and Jarrell White.
Marcus Freeman and Mike Mickens are the main recruiters here. Smith said he likes how both act on and off the field. how they know when to be humorous and serious. He also likes the environment both coaches have kept in their groups.
Kentucky and Minnesota are the main threats here right now. Smith said he knows he's going for game three, against Florida. Not a set date, but looking at Minnesota within a week or two after that. The big thing here is that UC gets him to come over for a visit this fall. Still early, but interesting to see who else comes into the picture.
