Guys, I spoke earlier with Reynoldsburg (OH) 2019 three-star linebacker Dezman Cooper. No Cincinnati offer right now, but he's one of those in line as a strong possibility.

Cooper was on hand Saturday for the Bearcats' loss to Marshall. It was his first time at UC since he camped there over the summer. Cooper told me assistant coach Jon Tenuta is his primary recruiter, but he spent most of the time talking to coach Luke Fickell and defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman. Cooper said the talk was casual, but he liked talking with them and being around them.

The only offer right now is from Miami (OH) and Cooper visited there a few weeks ago. Cooper has also been to games at Ohio State and Michigan State and the latter is the one he liked most. Cooper said he has a great relationship with the staff there.

The big thing noteworthy is that Cooper's uncle, Joe Cooper, played at Ohio State from 1998-2001. The Buckeyes will be an option, but the younger Cooper isn't as smitten with OSU as you might think.

Lots of visits coming, Ohio this weekend, Indiana, then Kentucky the following weekends. So early, but Dezman Cooper is busy with a lot of visits that could shape his recruitment. If UC offers, it'll be in good shape. I think an offer will come, just a matter of when.

Full story coming.
