Hey guys, just talked to one of UC's newest offers, Wayne (OH) 2023 OL Evan Tengesdahl. The Bearcats just offered last week.
The big thing here is that Tengesdahl's mom is a UC alum. That seems to early on have made a big difference. He said his mom has great things to say about the university, which has helped ease his mind. It also helps that Tengesdahl camped at UC early last month. He talked a lot with the coaches and said he got to see close-up how they are.
The main relationship here is with assistant coach Ron Crook, also the primary recruiter. Tengesdahl said they talked a lot during the camp and he liked what he heard. He compared Crook to his high school coaches.
The only schools Tengesdahl mentioned besides UC were Kentucky and Notre Dame, neither of whom have offered. He said he camped at UK June 16 and liked everything he saw there. Tengesdahl said he's also working on setting up a visit with Notre Dame soon and that the Irish told him they're waiting to see his test scores, as well as some junior film this fall before they would offer.
So, very early here. But at this point, UC has to be feeling good about the spot it's in. Being a legacy is always a plus and having camped at UC is also big.
