Guys, I talked earlier with three-star LB Isaiah Jones to get an update on where his recruitment is. UC was on him pretty heavy for a while, but that's cooled a bit.
So, Jones still talks with the Bearcats and said he actually had a phone conversation with defensive coordinator Mike Tressel today. Jones said they hadn't talked in a while, but didn't say what that really mean. He did tell me, "I'd still consider them an option." But Jones said Tressel was honest with him and told him there's more options at linebacker, thanks in part to the fifth-year option.
The four schools primarily in play here are Minnesota, Indiana, Wake Forest and Duke. He's taking an official visit to Minnesota June 11, likely one to Indiana June 25 and has two unofficial visits to Wake and Duke June 1 & 2.
UC sounds like an outside fifth option right now. If he does get to Clifton on a visit, which could happen, UC could get back in the picture. There's obviously still interest, since Jones talked with Tressel today. But I don't think he'll wait long on the Bearcats. Indiana sounds like the top option, since he's also camping there June 14, after the Minnesota official.
Full story coming.
