Guys, I caught up with one of UC's new offers for 2021, Jefferson (Ind.) DE Jalen Monrrow. The odd thing is, he didn't visit UC on Saturday. He actually went to Bowling Green and was offered by the UC staff on his drive there. Monrrow told me he's heard from Miami (OH), Toledo, Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and Boston College.
It sounds like the UC offer was somewhat of a surprise. Monrrow told me he's talked mostly with defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, whom he called "a cool guy." Monrrow has been to UC, as he visited last month for the Miami (OH) game.
Monrrow said he liked his Bowling Green visit and he's also been to Illinois State. This weekend, he'll be at Northern Illinois and he's waiting to see what's next. More visits coming, but he's unsure where those will be at the moment.
Still pretty early here. But being the first offer usually holds a lot of weight with recruits. So if the Bearcats decide they really want Monrrow, it'll be a good thing they were in first.
Full story coming.
