Guys, I talked last night with one of the slew of offers UC has made over the past few weeks to big-time recruits. This one was 2023 Rivals250 Jalen Thompson, from Detroit. He told me he's up to 21 offers, most recently from UC, Tennessee, Illinois and Marshall.

First off, the big news here is Thompson is visiting UC Oct. 16 for the UCF game. That will be the biggest recruiting weekend left of the season, though the SMU game on Nov. 20 is also shaping up to be a big one.

Thompson has not been to UC before, but told me he has a few teammates also going to that game. He's interested in the atmosphere and said he really became intrigued after the Bearcats' win at Notre Dame. He told me the Big 12 move isn't a huge deal for him, but he's loved talking with assistant coach Greg Scruggs and Max Stienecker. Thompson said he has a family feel when he talks to both and he loves how up-front he feels like both are with him.

The only game visits thus far for Thompson were to Michigan State for the Nebraska game and to Michigan for the Washington game. He had a little more to say about the Spartans, so if anything, that might be the slight early favorite. But I don't think it's a definite favorite. No other visits planned past the one next week to Cincinnati, but Thompson told me he wants to see Notre Dame and Missouri after that.

So, we'll know more about where the Bearcats stand after he visits next week. But, good position for the time being.

Full story coming.
