Guys, I talked earlier with 2020 three-star forward Ja'Queze Kirby. I hadn't talked to him in a while, but had heard UC was still in the picture here.
Honestly, the Bearcats might be in the picture, but it's just inside the frame. Kirby said when he has talked with the UC staff, it's been an hour conversation. But that hasn't been in a few weeks. So honestly, it sounds like Kirby isn't sure how interested the Bearcats are. He also told me, "I wanna say they're out, but I'm not 100 percent sure." And it sounds like he's waiting just a little longer to see if UC gets back in it.
The school that seems to be at the forefront is Murray State. He has an official visit there Aug. 22, which could be quite telling. The school that really is controlling things here, though, is Georgia. Kirby said he doesn't have an offer from there yet, but coach Tom Creen and the staff want him to take a visit. And he's looking at going on an unofficial Sept. 16. If UGA was to offer, I think the Bulldogs are immediately the favorite.
Kennesaw State and Ole Miss are also looking good here. But so much hinges on A) the UGA visit and if an offer comes, and B) If UC gets back in. Those two seem to be the main variables at play here.
