Guys, especially with no game this weekend, I wanted to give you some recruiting info on this Friday. I talked with one of the Bearcats' more recent offers, DeSales (OH) 2022 linebacker Jonathan Thompson. He's at three offers now, from UC, Akron and Kent State.
Thompson has not been to Clifton before. But he does like a lot of things about UC. He likes the run of success and the coaching he's seen. He likes how defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman and Luke Fickell both have ties to Columbus, since both were at Ohio State. And it seems like Thompson really likes Freeman. He called him "a cool guy off the field."
Thompson just hasn't been anywhere yet. So, it's tough for him to say a lot. He likes something about all three offers, but it's just too early to say. I think UC is in the best early position, but Thompson is just hoping to see more in person.
