Hey all, I want to first apologize for not having more INsider posts up on here. It's been a bit busy for me, but I'll work to get more info on here for y'all. So, I spoke with one of UC's more recent offers, 2022 three-star safety JQ Hardaway.
First off, Hardaway is approaching 20 offers. He did get in three visits before the pandemic hit, to Auburn, Kentucky and Georgia, all for games. But since he hasn't taken any visits since then, everything has kinda come to a halt. Hardaway did tell me getting those three visits in makes a big difference, so that's all he knows and all he has to go by.
With UC, Hardaway said he knows and likes all the corporate connections the city of Cincinnati has. Assistant coach Perry Eliano is the primary recruiter here and Hardawy told me, "He seems very passionate and honest. I really cant be 100% without seeing him, but the way he presents himself, he's family-first." So, it seems like Eliano has at least made an impression, which is a plus. And once guys can take on-campus visits and meet with coaches, I think the Bearcats have a good shot.
He mentioned Kentucky twice, so if anything, the Wildcats might have a slight edge. But I'm not sure how much I'd read into that. He mentioned Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Pittsburgh and Kentucky as the schools he feels like are on him a little harder. Again, though, there's just not a ton to go by.
Good early position here for UC, but it'll be interesting to see how visits open things up for Hardaway and others.
Full story coming.
