Guys, I talked earlier tonight with three-star OL Landen Livingston, who's announcing his decision Friday at noon ET. His top five is UC, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana and Purdue.
I had Livingston talk about each of his top five. With UC, he told me he loved his official visit last month, and getting to talk in-depth with coach Luke Fickell and assistant coaches Brian Mason and Ron Crook. Livingston said he loved what he heard from each and he also got to hang out a lot with his host, OL Landon Fickell. That seems to have been a good choice for the Bearcats. They seem to have really hit it off.
Livingston said the most about Iowa of the five. He likes the track record the Hawkeyes have of developing OL and putting them in the NFL. And he also likes the passion from the fans and just the fan base overall. He also talked up both in-state schools, Indiana and Purdue. But there was just something about the way he talked about West Virginia that has me picking the Mountaineers in my FutureCast. You've gotta listen for inflection, excitement, those kinds of traits when guys talk. It doesn't always work, but it's pretty damn effective. And I'm pretty confident in this pick.
UC will stay in Livingston's ear the next few days. But it sounds like he could already have his mind made up. That, plus how he talked, has me going with WV in this one.
Full story coming tomorrow.
