Guys, I reached out to one of the more talked about names in the Chicago area this season, Richards (Ill.) 2020 running back Leshon Williams. He's rushed for over 1,000 yards this season, as Richards has gone 9-0, with the playoffs beginning tomorrow.
Williams now has three offers, from Cincinnati, Northern Illinois and Toledo. The latter offered last week. The Bearcats offered him back in June.
Williams made his first trip to the Queen City last month, for the Alabama A&M game. He told me he loved the atmosphere, the overall environment with the team. Williams also likes how Cincinnati has played and looked this season. He's certainly noticed how it made the top 25, even with the loss at Temple.
Assistant coaches Doug Phillips and Gino Guidugli have been the primary recruiters here. Williams said he likes the vibe he's gotten from them and how genuine he thinks they are.
This season, Williams also visited NIU and Notre Dame. The latter obviously has not offered, but you can tell he's really hoping for that one. I don't get the sense that NIU blew him away, but that's a possibility if things stay the way they are. Next up, he'll be at Michigan State Nov. 24.
Full story coming, but this is a kid who could really take off in recruiting, especially if Richards can make a deep playoff run. That would give him more film and highlights to show. Push those numbers up.
