Guys, just got off the phone a few minutes ago with Bolingbrook (Ill.) three-star CB Malik Rainey. He's one of UC's more recent offers in the 2021 class, so I wanted to see where things stood with him.

Pretty impressive offer list, from Virginia, Colorado State, Wyoming, and most of the MAC schools. The Bearcats just offered May 6, his newest offer, but they're hardly new. Rainey said he visited just two schools since last fall, one of them being UC in September for the Miami (OH) game. So honestly, I'm a little surprised it took this long for the offer to come.

But honestly, I don't think it's hurt the Bearcats in the least. He talked about how much he likes assistant coach Gino Guidugli, how much he liked the atmosphere at the Nip, and how UC would definitely be in his upcoming top 5. And really, just the way he talks about the Bearcats, being one of only two visits he's been on, I've put in my FutureCast for them.

The other place he's been is Northern Illinois, twice last fall. But he didn't say NIU would be in his top 5, so I think you can likely cross them off.

Rainey said he'll release the top 5 himself any day, so I don't want to give that away here and ruin it for him. But he also said he'll likely announce a commitment in the next month and that "I know where I'm gonna go, where I wanna go." So to me, all signs point to UC. We'll see for sure, but seems to be in excellent shape here.

Full story coming soon.
