Guys, I talked a little earlier with a rising local player, Northmont (OH) receiver Markus Allen. Now has four offers after getting one today from Ball State.
So, no UC offer yet, but this is a kid the Bearcats are keeping in contact with and keeping an eye on. Other offers, besides Ball State, are Toledo, Miami (OH) and Akron. Purdue and Marshall have also reached out.
The only visit Allen has been to so far was last month to Miami and I think that's partly why his name has been a little quiet. Name hasn't made the rounds yet, but it will as he visits more. He's going to Akron on Jan. 20 and Toledo on the 25th.
With UC, Allen said he's camped twice. His main contact has been defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, and they "talk all the time." Allen said Freeman visited his school a few times this fall, too, but told him the Bearcats offensive staff is still evaluating him. But I'm hearing he's on the board. They want to see him in person and in camp this summer, but he's a good shot at an offer.
A little too early to get a great read here. Allen only has the one Miami visit and did like it. But we'll get a much better sense after some more visits in the next few months.
Full story coming.
