Guys, I caught up a little while ago with another of UC's recent offers for the 2020 class, Apex Friendship (NC) small forward Nick Farrar. The Bearcats offered him June 30, before the recent viewing period. He's since added offers from LSU, Texas A&M, Rutgers, Western Kentucky and a few others to get to a total of 25.
For now, Farrar doesn't have any visits set. But he told me he's looking at UC, Houston, Georgia Southern, VCU, LSU and Texas A&M as the schools he could visit. So without officially narrowing it down, he has a little right there.
Assistant coach Jayson Gee is the primary recruiter on Farrar. And coach John Brannen has chipped in too. With both, Farrar said he likes the relationships he has with them. He likes how he feels like it's more than just basketball with them. Farrar didn't get specific, but told me he lost his mother a few years ago and he likes how Gee can relate. He's unsure (I am too), but said he thought Gee also lost his mother not long ago.
Outside of the list I gave, Farrar talked about the Bearcats, but didn't give a ton away. He made a point to say that even if he visits somewhere, that doesn't mean he's definitely looking at going there, which seems a bit odd to me. Still, it'll come down to if he actually does visit UC. Sounds like he'll have some visits in order over the next week or so.
Full story coming.
