Guys, I talked last night with one of the Bearcats' top guys left on the board for the 2021 class, three-star DE Robert Jackson. UC LOVES this kid. So, I wanted to see where things stand.

In June, Jackson named a top 10 of UC, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Virginia and Nebraska. And he told me that top 10 still stands, though it's clear that not all 10 are equal, so there might be technically a top 10, but not really one, if that makes sense. I didn't ask him to talk about all 10, but poked at a few I know he's looking at.

One of those obviously, is UC. Jackson told me he talks to the Bearcats "a lot" and that he's talked to Myjai Sanders, Leroy Bowers and a few others. He specifically mentioned those two. Jackson said he also talks to the whole staff. Assistant coach Greg Scruggs is the primary recruiter, but it's been a handful of the coaches he's really gotten to know, including coach Luke Fickell and assistant coach Colin Hitschler. He mentioned those three. Jackson did take a virtual visit, which he says gave him a better idea of the campus, the city and the program.

The one school that might be the one to watch here is Arizona State. That's the school Jackson said that did something different on the virtual visits. He told me it was more drawn out, more detailed. He didn't go into ASU a ton, but it just sounds like he likes the Devils. And Herm Edwards is a draw for plenty of guys.

Also keep an eye on Temple, Rutgers (only two in-person visits) and Virginia Tech. Those three also seem to be in good position. We'll see, but tough to get a good read here. Also, no indication an announcement is any time soon. I think he might be holding out hope of taking some in-person visits, they just haven't happened yet.
