Guys, I just got off the phone a few minutes ago with three-star OL Trevor Lauck. He was just at UC a couple of weeks ago on an unofficial visit, his most recent stop. He's now up to 10 offers, including Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky and Michigan State.
Lauck's stop on July 28 in Clifton was his first time being at UC. He said he hated not seeing more coaches, since they were off, in a bit of rest before the season. But his primary recruiter, Brian Mason, was there to meet him and show him and his sister around the facilities and campus. Lauck said he liked what he saw and liked facetiming with OL coach Ron Crook. Apparently that was the night Crook was preparing a barbecue for the Bearcats' OL at his house. "He was a super nice guy, really genuine," Lauck said. "He actually had his kid with him, which was funny." Overall, a solid visit that definitely helps UC.
It's apparent that Lauck really wants an Ohio State offer. None yet, but he camped there in June then went back for the program's BBQ a few weeks ago. They told him they'd watch his film, but if he blows up this fall, that'll really be the one to watch. Lauck said this summer he also visited Michigan State, Kentucky, Indiana, Purdue and Iowa. The latter resulted in an offer, so I asked a bit more about that one. He does like it and with Iowa's OL track record, that'll be another one to watch.
VERY early here, so don't put too much stock into anything yet. But this is a kid I know UC likes and is absolutely worth keeping an eye on.
Full story coming.
