Hey guys, I talked last night with three-star tight end Tyrus Washington. He has a top seven now that consists of UC, Kansas State, UCF, South Carolina, USF, Arkansas and Ole Miss. And it sounds like he plans to get it down to a top five once he can take some more visits.
The Bearcats are in a good spot here, because they were the first to offer. That doesn't always mean something, but to Washington, it does. He said he's stayed in contact with members of the coaching staff since that offer came in January of 2020. And though he's still yet to visit the Queen City, Washington said he hopes to do that soon.
The primary recruiter here is assistant coach Gino Guidugli, though offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock has also played a big role. Washington said "It's all good" with his talks between those two coaches. He likes the 'love' they've shown him and he also likes the relationship overall.
I think UC is in a good spot, but still not at the top. It sounds like the Bearcats will make the next cut, but I'd say UCF and Arkansas are out front. He already has official visits set up to those two in June. The key will be that UC HAS to get him up on an official in June, otherwise, there's no shot.
