Guys, I finally had a chance to talk with the Bearcats' most recent commitment, tight end Payten Singletary. Had a lot of smaller offers, like East Carolina, Troy and Marshall.
Couple of things here that stood out. First, he hasn't been to UC in more than a year. He went last summer for a camp. So he made a decision despite it being that long.
Second, Singletary said they want him to be a catching tight end. Here's his quote on what the Bearcats staff expects out him:
"They want me to be the guy, like Travis Kelce, more of a receiving tight end." I mean, that's pretty high praise to throw that name in there.
Singletary will be signing in December and enrolling in January. So he'll be getting in with a good chance to get right behind Josh Whyle.
