Guys, I made some calls last night and this morning to check in on some of the notable recruits in attendance Saturday for the Tulsa game. And as we figured, there were a lot on hand. I've got some new news and a few things to also clear up.
*First off, I confirmed that a pair of official visits did not happen. One visitor did visit, but it wasn't an official. Three-star WR Tyrell Henry, who's committed to Michigan State, did visit, but not officially. I've been asked not to put anything out there publicly (anything not here on this subscriber-only board) so it doesn't get him in trouble with the Spartans. Henry went to Skyline Chili and said he loved the visit. He's looking at an official visit as early as the SMU game. If it doesn't happen then, expect it in December. Henry also plans to visit Michigan State and Mississippi State. I think that commitment status is fading. He doesn't want to call it yet, because you just never know, but he's becoming more and more of a definite for the Bearcats. His visit this weekend says as much. We'll monitor when that official visit will take place.
**Four-star DE Sterling Lane, an Arizona commit, did NOT visit UC this weekend. He told me he's been "in conversations" with the Bearcats staff, but has not visited and does not have a visit to UC planned right now. He said he has no official visits set anywhere right now, BUT, when I asked if he'll visit the Bearcats anytime soon, he told me, "I've been thinking about it." My guess is that if he does officially visit, it won't happen until after the season. But it sounds very promising that he will.
***Three-star wide receiver JoJo Bermudez did in fact officially visit the Bearcats this weekend. He told me the visit went very well, as evidenced by the tweet below. I posted an INsider last week that Bermudez seemed like a heavy UC lean after I talked with him and I don't think that has changed at all. If anything, I think the Bearcats are even more favored. I made my FutureCast for UC last week and I'm big time sticking with that. Not sure if Bermudez will even visit anywhere else this weekend. He posted on Twitter that he's announcing at 7 pm ET next Monday at his school. The only possibility it seems like for an official right now is this weekend to Vanderbilt. But still not sure if that will happen. I'll be following up with Bermudez this weekend about it.
****The other big name on campus this weekend was 2023 Rivals100 QB Dante Moore. He visited for the game with his teammate, three-star OL Johnathan Slack. It seems like Slack might be even more of a lean to UC than I thought. This was his second visit to UC this season, after the UCF game. I'm not quite ready to put in my FutureCast for the Bearcats, but I'm extremely close. But the fact that he brought Moore with him says a lot. It sounds like Moore really enjoyed himself and had a great visit. But you have to remember, Moore is one of the most sought-after players in the country for 2023, with offers from just about everywhere. He has a longer way to go to decide where he wants to play. But this was an EXCELLENT sign for UC, getting him on campus for this game. If Slack does commit, the odds for Moore go up, as they seem to be close. Don't get too giddy just yet, but the Bearcats are in a great spot for right now.
*****Lots of 2023 visitors in town. Below are a few of the notable ones. Four-star WR Anthony Brown is probably the one that should pique the most interest. Minnesota commit as of now. I have no reason to believe that's slipped and I think he was just visiting with teammates (Shawn Thigpen and Tywan January), but if he does visit again, we'll know there's more than just smoke there. Ethan Crisp is a kid I spotlighted with an INsider and story just a few weeks ago. He finally visited and earned an offer. I've also got an INsider coming separately on Jackson McGohan, who didn't visit, but got an offer. Plenty more info coming when available.
