Guys, I spoke last night with Cathedral (Ind.) three-star linebacker Hugh Davis. If you'll remember, last month, he told Josh Helmholdt that he had a top two of Cincinnati and Indiana.

Boston College recently offered and he told me he's now added that to what is now a top three. He likes the tradition and history of good defenses at BC. And honestly, I will say as bad as BC has been for the most part in the last 10 years or so, he's right, the Eagles have had some really good defenses. Davis cited Luke Kuechly as just one example from there.
With UC, Davis said he last visited for junior day and the Bearcats' basketball game against Xavier. He called coach Luke Fickell and Marcus Freeman "linebacker gurus" and listed a lot of the guys Fickell has coached who have made it to the NFL. "They can't go anywhere else but up," Davis told me. "I have a high amount of respect for Coach Fickell."
And with Freeman, Davis said they talk on an almost daily basis. He said they talk about where Davis would fit in on the Bearcats' defense and how he's "excited" when he talks to Freeman.
The last visit Davis made was to Indiana on Feb. 28. Davis said he likes everything about the Hoosiers. He also likes the defensive system in place there.
The first week of April is Davis' spring break and he said sometime in that week he plans to visit Louisville. He also plans to be at the Bearcats' spring game next month. I get the feeling that even though he's added BC, this is still a two-horse race between UC and IU.
Full story coming.
