Scary stuff recently with Prince Toyambi, who apparently had to have surgery for a cardiac issue. Statement from UC:
"University of Cincinnati men’s basketball redshirt-freshman forward Prince Toyambi (Kinshasa, Congo/Fresno HS) underwent a successful surgical procedure Monday to correct a cardiac issue discovered recently during the preseason.
Toyambi is currently being monitored by the UC medical staff, under the direction of senior associate athletics director for medical services Bob Mangine and team physician Dr. Michael Donaworth.
A timetable for his return is not yet determined.
“Prince is one of the most genuine young men I have come across in my over 20 years in coaching,” UC head coach John Brannen said. “We are thrilled with his successful surgery and look forward to working with him through his recovery.”
