Cincinnati Athletics Partners with Lava.ai to Elevate Season-Ticket Member Experience

Per GoBearcats :

The University of Cincinnati Athletics announced on Thursday a partnership with Lava.ai, a leading provider of fan engagement and data activation solutions, to enhance the fan engagement and customer service experience for season ticket members and all Bearcat fans.

As part of this collaboration, UC will test LAVA’sinnovative applications during the final men’s basketball home game, with plans for a full launch in Fall 2025 for Bearcats football. Over the next two weeks, season ticket members should look for emails featuring exclusive customer service offers and exciting new benefits.

LAVA’s platform enables athletics departments to engage with fans in a differentiated way, from season-ticket members, single-game buyers, alumni, donors, and students through digital rewards, personalized experiences, and more. Using LAVA’s fully integrated platform, Cincinnati will be able to deliver in-person and digital customer engagements to enhance the fan experience.

"We are always looking to elevate the fan experience, and LAVA will help us do that," said Anthony Di Fino, Cincinnati’s Deputy Athletic Director for External Relations and Chief Revenue Officer. "The world of college athletics is transforming rapidly, but what can't be lost is that our fans deserve our dedicated focus, especially as they join us on campus for gamedays. Having a partner like LAVA will help us innovate in a space that is becoming increasingly important as fan engagement and viewing habits continue to evolve. Fans rightfully demand a world-class and memorable experience, and this partnership will help us meet those expectations."

Over 50 professional sports franchises, including NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLS, and related venues already utilize LAVA’s platform solutions to help drive revenue and bring additional value to sponsors and partners. The University of Cincinnati is LAVA’s first collegiate partner.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the innovation-minded Cincinnati Athletics team to bring professional-level fan engagement to college sports fandom,” said Dave Landa, LAVA’s Chief Business Officer. “College fans are every bit as rabid and unique as pro fans, if not more, so they deserve the same level of personalized real-time engagement.”

Conner Hickman injury update

Wes Miller gave a brief update on PG Conner Hickman's injury status ahead of the teams contest vs #10 Iowa State.

Miller noted that Hickman started to experience discomfort in his foot the day after the Xavier game. Hickman tried to battle through it over the start of conference play but has not seen action since January 7th in the Bearcats 68-48 loss to Baylor.

The veteran head coach noted that he currently doesn't have an update on Hickman's timeframe but notes that he doesn't have a great expectation on him returning anytime soon. But said he wouldn't count anything out of the picture quite yet.

Arrinten Page Status vs WVU

Bearcats forward Arrinten Page will be available for the Bearcats tonight vs WVU per sources.

Page only played just one minute in the Bearcats loss to Iowa State on Sunday after going down with a lower body injury in the opening segment of the first half.

A great sign for Cincinnati as Page will be able to take some of the minutes off Aziz Bandaogo who is coming off a 33-minute performance vs Iowa State on Saturday, which is the most minutes he has played in a game all season.

Simas Lukosius OUT vs WVU

Per Sources, Bearcats guard Simas Lukosius will not play tonight vs West Virginia due to a shoulder injury sustained in the Iowa State game.

That is a huge loss for Cincinnati, in a must win scenario for the Bearcats, they will have to do so without one of their top scorers in Lukosius.

Lukosius finished with a just 8 points on 1-7 shooting in the first matchup vs WVU back on February 2nd.

Expect Dan Skillings to fill in for Lukosius in the starting lineup.
