Take Aways from Texas Tech Head Coach Joey McGuire weekly press conference.

McGuire noted that he thinks this could be one of the best games within all of college football this week as both teams are 3-1 to start the Season.

"I'm really excited for this matchup. It will be one of the best games in all of college football this week. Both teams are 3-1, I'm really excited that they are coming here to Lubbock."

McGuire also referenced Cincinnati NT Dontay Corleone as an "Animal" due to his size and presence and mentioned how he is high on NFL Draft boards.

Highlights Cincinnati Tight end Joe Royer and views Royer as a guy who could be drafted within the first 3 rounds of Aprils 2025 NFL Draft.
" "He is a total TE as far as pass catching, he can get open, great run blocker. We will have to know where he is at all times."

On Cincinnati's rushing attack behind guys like Corey Kiner and Evan Pryor.

"The one thing about Coach Satterfield is that he has an offense the last 11 years that has averaged over 200 rushing yards per game. That is top-30 in the country for the last 11 years. They are really good at running the football. Both of their running backs in Corey Kiner and Evan Pryor are both legit running backs."

Krepline comes to Cincinnati following a successful stint as the head coach at Lawrence University. From 2019-24, he earned two Midwest Conference Coach of the Year awards and held Lawrence to two conference titles (2022 and 2024).

This past season, Krepline’s squad posted a 31-11 record, the most wins in a season in school history, and four of his student-athletes earned All-America recognitions. Outfielder Jacob Charon was named the league’s player of the year and pitcher Quinn Berglin was named the pitcher of the year.

Overall, Krepline coached 21 all-conference players and had 12 all-region selections during his time at Lawrence.

Krepline, who also had a stint as an assistant coach at Lawrence in 2013 and 2014, was an assistant coach at St. Norbert college from 2015-18. During that time, he coached six All-Midwest Conference and four All-Central Region pitchers. St. Norbert also won three Midwest Conference North Division titles, a Midwest Conference championship and played in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament.

His previous experience also includes coaching the Green Bay Rockets of the Northwoods League and a stint at Reedsville High School from 2011-13.
