Guys, I talked to another of UC's more recent offers today, Lexington Catholic (Ky.) 2020 quarterback Beau Allen. Has seven offers right now, from UC, Kentucky, Michigan, Maryland, Bowling Green, Troy and Eastern Kentucky.

Let me get this out of the way, Allen is a KY legacy. His dad, Bill Allen, played there in the early 1980s. There was even a point where there were rumors he had committed to the Wildcats. Allen was candid with me and said he was quite annoyed by those rumors. He likes UK and has obviously grown up around it, but he also is genuinely interested in others.

One of those is UC. The big reason is that when Joker Phillips was head coach at UK, he lived near Allen and his family and they became close. Allen said he's also talked with other members of the Bearcats staff, like Gino Guidugli and Mike Hartline, who's quality control on offense. Hartline played at Ky. Also noteworthy is Phillips played with Allen's dad at Kentucky.

Allen just went to Ole Miss yesterday for camp and camped last week at Wake Forest and Duke. No offers there, so don't put a ton of stock in those. He's headed to Kentucky Saturday, Purdue Monday and North Carolina and South Carolina over the next few weeks.

Yes, I still say Kentucky is the favorite. But it's not a guarantee. And that's where someone like UC could come in and actually have a chance, especially with the Joker Phillips connection.

Full story coming.

FB Recruiting ***INsider: Jaden Payoute***

Guys, I talked earlier with a kid who's gaining a ton of momentum early in the summer, LC Bird (Va.) 2019 wide receiver Jaden Payoute. No ranking, but that's only temporary. He's taken in some camps already and now has 17 offers, most recent from Cincinnati, VT, Illinois, Boston College, Tennessee and Charlotte.

The Bearcats offered Payoute today at lunch. At this point, he said he doesn't know much about them. There's some kind of connection here, but I'm still trying to nail it down. A coach on the Bird staff has a brother on the Cincinnati staff. So Payoute has heard plenty about UC before, but he hasn't been. And UC has a chance, as Payoute said the next three visits he hopes to take are UC, Illinois and Tennessee. No dates set yet.

The other one to watch here is Virginia Tech. In-state and Bird has sent a ton of guys to the Hokies in the past. Payoute is also visiting Blacksburg this weekend for a camp. The other one to watch is Penn State. His teammate, four-star Hakeem Beamon, committed there recently and Payoute has been to PSU with him.

No favorites or list cuts yet, so the Bearcats are still in it. But we'll find out just how much, if he visits this summer or not.

Full story coming.

Guys, I talked earlier with Eagle's Landing Christian (Ga.) three-star receiver Justin Menard. UC just offered him yesterday. Thing is though, he's now up to 35 offers.

Menard is definitely a kid who should be four stars. He's a hell of an athlete, who's running track right now, too.

With the Bearcats, there's not a lot of interest. Menard told me he didn't know UC was recruiting him. He also said, "I just know they're in Ohio. That’s a little far." The offer came from assistant coach Joker Phillips. But Menard told me he forgot Phillips' name. He said Phillips was nice and he liked talking to him, but there wasn't much else.

He;s headed to Clemson tomorrow, where he thinks he'll get an offer. He'll be at UCF Saturday and Louisville next week. UCF, North Carolina and Louisville are the front-runners here. Never say never, but odds are very slim here.
