Football New Transfer Offer: Myles Rowser

Interesting story here. Once a Rivals100 kid, he slid out of the top 100 to his current ranking at the end of his senior season. He was committed to Michigan as a sophomore, flipped to Arkansas in the spring of his junior year, then on Feb signing day in 2022, signed with Campbell, an FCS team. I haven't seen anything confirming why, but it was reported by our Arkansas site that the Hogs wouldn't accept his LOI. There hasn't been an official word why, but it sounds like either poor grades or some off the field issue that wasn't publicized. But either way, this is a kid with a ton of talent. I'll try to catch up with Rowser soon.

Guys, I talked earlier with one of the Bearcats' more recent offers, safety Cornell Allen. He has a ton of offers, though I'm not sure if all are committable. And some aren't full athletic offers, but academic offers.
Login to view embedded media Allen, though, is setting up official visits and has four planned: Charlotte June 2, UCONN June 16, Arizona State June 8 and Eastern Michigan June 22. Right now, he said he's unsure if he'll take more visits. As a reminder, starting July 1, recruits can take unlimited official visits. But it sounds like the other two schools in play here are UC and Kansas.

UC offered Allen on May 16 and three days later he put the Bearcats in his top 10, along with the schools mentioned and Missouri, Indiana, Pitt and UCF. Allen has never been to Clifton and said he doesn't know much about UC except for the move to the Big 12. But it sounds like what has him interested is he told me, "some of the players have been texting me, trying to get me on a visit." I'm not sure which recruits specifically have reached out most, but I do know all of the commits have reached out in some way. So I think an official visit could happen that last weekend in June.

Again, Kansas is the one I'd really watch here. If Allen waits, he can visit KU this fall. Or, he could decide to visit there the last weekend in June instead of UC, which would put the Jayhawks squarely in front.

So, it sounds like a lot hinges on that last weekend in June and where he chooses to visit. He could decide after that, or he could go into the fall. But since Allen wants to decide in July, I think where he goes that last weekend will be the favorite.

Full story coming.

New Apparel Deal

With the Under Armour contract coming up, UC is going back to Nike for every sport except basketball, where men's and women's teams will wear Jordan Brand.

The University of Cincinnati Athletics Department announced on Wednesday an apparel agreement with BSN SPORTS. Within the deal, Cincinnati has elected to equip its programs in NIKE, Inc. product, effective immediately.

The partnership will make BSN SPORTS the Bearcats’ exclusive provider of apparel, footwear, and other equipment needs, which will be highlighted by the outfitting of teams in Jordan Brand and Nike. This deal places the Bearcats in the iconic brands as they launch into the Big 12 Conference beginning with the 2023-24 season.

“This is a monumental moment for our more than 450 student-athletes and our entire athletic department. It was important for us to have stability in our apparel provider for years to come and to have a partner solidified as we joined the Big 12 this summer,” Director of Athletics John Cunningham said. “To many of our fans, Jordan Brand represents the quintessential jersey of one of the top stretches in the history of Cincinnati basketball, while Nike has proved to be the driving force in athletics apparel innovation for decades. I can’t wait to have the Swoosh and Jumpman logos join with our C-Paw marks once again.”

Cincinnati has partnered with BSN SPORTS since 2021.

Todd Northrop, Vice President of BSN SPORTS Collegiate Select Program, said, “The BSN SPORTS Collegiate Select team is proud of the opportunity to join Nike and the Jordan Brand in outfitting this exciting new chapter for Cincinnati Bearcat Athletics. It will remain our foremost goal to bring unmatched service and partnership to each and every coach so they can continue focusing solely on the success of their student-athletes.”

Fans can purchase officially licensed Nike and Jordan Brand Cincinnati gear beginning in June of 2023 at select local and national retailers.

“The service model that the Collegiate Select division of BSN SPORTS provides is unparalleled and has continued to help us perform at a high level,” said Greg Bruner, Associate Athletics Director for Equipment Operations. “We believe the partnership solidifies our mission to impact the lives of our student-athletes, connect to our community, and enhance our University.”

Cincy Reigns Partnership

Collectives and schools are having to get more creative with raising money for NIL to get the best recruits and transfers. Pretty cool initiative announced yesterday by Cincy Reigns. Here's the press release:

Cincy Reigns, a Name, Image, and Likeness (“NIL”) fundraising collective that helps Bearcats’ student-athletes in all sports monetize their personal brands while supporting the Greater Cincinnati philanthropic communityx, announces a ground-breaking collaboration with Rhinegeist Brewery (RGB) to produce a unique co-branded beer.

The beer, Cincy Light, will be an easy-drinking light lager capturing the spirit of the Queen City. Cincy Light is a crisp and refreshing brew designed by the talented brewing team at Rhinegeist for tailgating, taking in a game, or unwinding with friends after a day of exploring the City of Seven Hills.

Rhinegeist remains dedicated to building lasting communities in Cincinnati with beer as a way to bring people together in support of their passions, and this joint effort with Cincy Reigns provides a unique avenue to merge Rhinegeist’s community focus with Cincy Reigns support for Cincinnati athletics. A portion of all retail sales from the collaboration will support NIL efforts for University of Cincinnati student-athletes. Fans of craft beer and supporters of UC athletics will be able to show support for the Queen City with a crisp, refreshing lager ideal for Cincy sporting events. Cincy Light will be available throughout Cincinnati where Rhinegeist is sold.

Cincy Reigns connects charitable organizations with community-oriented Cincinnati student-athletes eager to leverage their Name, Image, and Likeness for positive impact. The alliance with RGB demonstrates both entities' dedication to community outreach and investment in Cincinnati's student-athletes' futures.

In addition to the co-branded beer, the partnership will feature exclusive fundraising events at Rhinegeist in support of Cincy Reigns and other community initiatives with other fans of Bearcats and beer.

"We are thrilled to partner with Rhinegeist, a company that shares our passion for championing the Cincinnati community and bringing people together around a cause,” said Brian Fox, Chair of the Cincy Reigns Board of Directors. “This one-of-a-kind collaboration will not only produce a delightful beer for fans to appreciate but also significantly impact the lives of the student-athletes we serve and the local charities we endorse."

For Fox and Cincy Reigns, this is a game-changing partnership that can elevate the Bearcats to the next level as they transition into the Big 12 this summer and aim to compete for championships as a newly minted “Power 5” program.

"Just as Bearcat student-athletes proudly represent the city on their uniforms, Rhinegeist does the same through its product with 'Cincy Made' featured on its cans,” Fox added. “This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to the Cincinnati community and our desire to celebrate its spirit and support Cincinnati's Power 5 program."

Adam Bankovich, Interim CEO of Rhinegeist Brewery, and a University of Cincinnati alum, shared his excitement about the partnership. "We are honored to join forces with Cincy Reigns Collective, an organization that shares our dedication to community engagement and support for Cincinnati,” Bankovich said. “Cincy Light offers not only a unique beer experience for fans, but also creates a positive impact on our community. As a long-standing partner of UC Athletics, we look forward to furthering our commitment to the city and the department. As a bonus, we have several UC graduates on our in-house design team, and they had an absolute blast working on this project!"
