Cincinnati PG recruiting

Although Wes Miller and company would love to have both, signs are pointing Isaiah Collier to USC and Jizzle James to Cincinnati.

Collier has went radio silent the past few weeks, but sources are saying USC is the leader with Michigan making a push.

Those inside James’ camp and around him, believe Cincinnati is the team to beat with a decision coming in the next month.

Guys, I also caught up last night with another SW Ohio product whom UC has not offered but who they're in regular conversations with, La Salle (OH) three-star safety Koy Beasley. He was on hand at the Bearcats' game against Indiana.
Login to view embedded media Beasley has seven offers, including Minnesota, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Boston College. So I'm a little puzzled on why the Bearcats are slow-playing him a little. They just seem to have others higher on their board than Beasley. But he's still very interested.

The visit to Clifton last weekend was the first gameday visit Beasley said he's had at UC. He mentioned multiple times how much he likes that the Bearcats are his hometown and how he'd love for his family to see him regularly play. Beasley said he felt welcomed and so far has liked everything he has experienced.

Assistant coach Colin Hitschler is the main recruiter here. Doesn't sound like he's been super specific on what the staff is looking for to offer. But Beasley said Hitshcler told him he liked Beasley's game and talked about how he could play safety at UC. Beasley was told the staff simply wants to build a better, stronger connection right now.

Beasley also visited games at Pittsburgh and Notre Dame, the latter for the loss to Marshall. I think Pitt is a real contender here right now. Beasley likes defensive coordinator Randy Bates, the atmosphere, the city and what they've seen from driving around. I think this is honestly the current leader.

The only game Beasley has planned as of now is Oct. 22 to Miami (OH). I think he's waiting to see what UC does, as well as a few others. So I'd imagine this recruitment likely going into next summer, but we'll see. In some ways, the ball is in UC's court.

Full story coming.

FB Recruiting ***INsider: Styles Prescod Latest***

Please do not copy/paste or summarize any portion of this post to other Web sites or message boards, as it is a direct violation of copyright laws and could result in the termination of your Rivals.com subscription per our terms of service. Thank you.

Guys, I talked last night with one of UC's visitors last weekend for the Indiana game, three-star OL Styles Prescod. He's up to 10 scholarship offers after Purdue offered last night and the Bearcats offered him back in June.
Login to view embedded media Prescod was at the Indiana game, which was one of what he called "countless" trips to UC and the city itself. He told me he was born in Cincinnati and still has lots of family in the area. But specifically with last weekend, Prescod told me he liked catching up with the coaches and all of the commits who were on hand. I'm not sure the exact number, but I think there were 15-16 commits who were at the game.

Assistant coach Mike Cummings is the primary recruiter here and has been from the beginning of this recruitment. And Prescod said he loved that even though there were so many commits and other big recruits on hand, he felt like Cummings and other coaches went out of their way to talk with him and his family. Overall, he told me he likes the city, the campus and the program.

This was Prescod's third gameday visit this fall. He also was at Notre Dame for its game against Cal the previous weekend and on Sept. 10 he was at Purdue for its game against Indiana State. Those two seem to have gone well, though the Boilermakers are the only one of the two that has offered a scholarship. Prescod told me a few of his high school football coaches went to Purdue and have been telling him about it. So keep that in mind, especially now that the Boilermakers have offered.

More game visits coming. He'll be at Iowa this weekend, Indiana next weekend and said he wants to get to West Virginia and Tennessee after that. It's still early right now, but based on what Prescod told me and how he talked, I'd say UC and Purdue are the two schools out front. Doesn't sound like he'll be deciding before the first of the year, so still plenty of time here.

Full story coming.

FB Recruiting DJ Pickett on UC Visit

Rivals' Adam Gorney mentioned one of UC's HUGE visitors from this past weekend, 2025 five-star safety DJ Pickett in his Recruiting Rumor Mill:

"Michigan, Ohio State and Florida State have been some mainstay favorites in Pickett’s recruitment early on and now Cincinnati will be a team to watch since he visited there this past weekend. The fans were “crazy” and everything about the Bearcats was “amazing” plus the Zephyhills, Fla., 2025 four-star safety got a big message from the Cincy staff.

“The coaches told me I could be the biggest recruit in history if I came to Cincinnati,” Pickett said."

*** INsider Jizzle James ***

A source in Jizzle’s camp came away with positive thoughts following a visit to the Queen City.

“The visit went great. They showed Jizzle a lot of love. Great coaching staff. Hell of a head coach. I think it is a close race between UGA and UC. I can’t speak for Jizzle but I know he was really impressed over the weekend.”

My gut feeling is Cincinnati lands the nation’s 15th best PG.

***INsider: UC's Weekend Visitors***
