Hey guys, I caught up with one of UC's recent offers for 2025, three-star OL Will Kemna. UC offered him on Jan. 5.
Login to view embedded media Kemna is a little light, at 255 pounds, but he's 6'5" so the frame is there. Still, Kemna has just three offers: UC, Nebraska and Kansas State. And he told me he really hasn't heard from the Wildcats in a while.

With the Bearcats, Kemna hasn't visited, but he's talked regularly with assistant coach Nic Cardwell, who made the offer. Sounds like it's not 100%, but VERY likely that Kemna visits UC for junior day Jan. 27. He'll be at Nebraska this weekend.

Kemna seems to have hit it off well with Cardwell. He said Cardwell talked a lot about the run-blocking they do, how they've had success with some linemen in the program. I'll talk about it in the story I write, but Kemna posted a photo of Jason Kelce in announcing his Bearcats offer. He's well aware of Kelce's history at UC. But it will be big to see how his visit to UC goes.

Nebraska is in the drivers seat right now, I think. It's much closer to home and the Huskers offered last fall. That visit there this weekend should go well, so important UC can follow up with a visit. Not sure what would keep him from visiting next weekend except winter weather, if it comes through.

Full story coming.

Hey y'all, I caught up last night with another recent UC offer, Miami Trace (OH) 2026 OL Adam Guthrie. Not sure if any of you have been following him on social media, but he's been blowing up with offers in the last week or two. He's up to 12 offers last check, most recently from Auburn.
Login to view embedded media UC offered Guthrie a week ago, the 10th to do so. He told me he's never been to UC, even though it's roughly an hour or so away from his house, but he's hoping to visit soon. Probably won't be for a junior day, because he's playing basketball right now and they have a lot of weekend games.

Guthrie told me he doesn't know a ton about the Bearcats right now, other than the Big 12 move and the success of Corey Kiner last season. He likes that UC has had success running the ball. He also likes assistant coach Nic Cardwell, who made the offer. He said Cardwell came to his school this week, which helped. And Guthrie told me, "he takes care of his offensive linemen and loves his offensive linemen a lot."

The only visit Guthrie has taken recently is last weekend to West Virginia. I think that went well, but it's one of the only places he's visited. He was going to stop by Ohio State this weekend, but NCAA rules prohibit him from visiting on the same day as another sporting event in the same city. So sounds like he won't see the Buckeyes this weekend.

I didn't realize but the first recruiting visit he even went on was Virginia Tech last summer for a camp. But the Hokies didn't offer until Jan. 11. Still, there's some familiarity there and he likes former UC assistant Ron Crook, who coaches the OL at VT. No visits planned right now, but he'll be taking in a lot of spring practices coming up.

Guys, another UC prospect I caught up with, Bolingbrook (Ill.) CB Jermaine Jones. UC offered him on Feb. 8, but since then he's added scholarship offers from Kent State, Delaware, South Dakota State and a few others. So nothing major past UC, but he's getting some other looks.
Login to view embedded media Jones said he'll be visiting a Bearcats spring practice on March 29. It sounds like he REALLY likes the Bearcats right now and talked about how he feels like the coaching staff has "made me feel wanted or special." Jones said he likes the development record of the coaching staff and how they communicate regularly.

Specifically, Jones said he's been talking with new defensive coordinator Tyson Veidt and some of the other staffers, like Cass Simmons. But Jones told me that Veidt has text him regularly, including a meal plan and checking up on him through the track season.

Aside from UC, Jones said he's working on visits to Boston College and Ball State. No offer from the Eagles, but contact there has picked up, so he thinks one might not be far off. Jones also visited Toledo in January, so there's some contact there.

Full story coming, but Bearcats are in excellent shape here. I'm actually gonna put in my Future Cast for the Bearcats here, based on what Jones has told me and how he talks about UC. More updates when available.

FB Recruiting ***INsider: Kaden Mowl***

Guys, I caught up with Oakland (Tenn.) OL Kaden Mowl, whom the Bearcats offered last summer. He's been a bit quiet, but Virginia Tech recently offered, to join UC, Memphis and Western Kentucky.

Mowl said his head coach, Kevin Creasy, is close with UC assistant Kerry Coombs. Coombs is who made the initial connection last summer, though Mowl told me he's talked mostly with assistant coach Nic Cardwell ever since. Mowl said he camped last June at UC, which is where the scholarship offer came from. He told me he knew an offer would be coming because the coaches pulled him aside and put him in smaller group with just a few other linemen.

Mowl called Cardwell "a wiry dude, man." I thought it was interesting that Mowl told me he knew exactly Cardwell was from when he played at Appalachian State. Mowl is originally from east Tennessee (between Knoxville and Bristol) and his family watched a lot of App St games.

Virginia Tech is really the only other main school here right now. Mowl visited there Feb. 3, right after he got the offer. But he told me he knows other schools have backed off and are cautious because he had a shoulder injury that he played through last fall, which required surgery. Mowl didn't wanna get too specific, but it sounds like a torn labrum. He had the surgery on Dec. 5 and while he's not at full health yet, he feels like he's getting close. Sounds like he'll take it pretty cautiously this spring. Not sure if he'll be in any camps.

I'd expect Mowl to be at UC for a spring practice over the next month. I think he'll get back to VT, too, but nothing set.
